Calcium Indicators & Chelators
Biotium offers a wide range of calcium indicator dyes, including Fluo-4 AM Ester, a bright and cell permeable dye that is used for high-throughput screening.
The calcium indicator dyes vary in their calcium dissociation constant (Kd), color and brightness. The AM ester versions are cell permeable, and hydrolyzed by intracellular esterases to release the fluorescent dye. See our complete selection of Calcium & Other Ion Indicators, or download the Ion Indicator Brochure to learn more.
Fluo-4 AM Ester
Membrane-permeant form of Fluo-4 calcium indicator.
Fluo-3, AM Ester
50013, 50014, - 50016View allHide
Membrane-permeant AM ester form of Fluo-3 that can be loaded into cells via incubation. Because of the relatively low water solubility of the AM ester, Pluronic F-127, a mild detergent, is often used as a dispersing agent to facilitate dye loading.
DMNP-EDTA (Caged Calcium), AM Ester
50051-5mg, - 50051-1mgView allHide
The membrane-permeant form of DMNP-EDTA (also known as DM-Nitrophen™), a photolyzable calcium chelator that can be used to release a pulse of calcium when exposed to light.
Mag-Fluo-4, AM Ester
Membrane-permeant AM ester form of Mag-Fluo-4, a fluorescent magnesium and calcium ion indicator that is an analog of Fluo-4.
Mag-Fluo-4, Tetrapotassium Salt
Membrane-impermeant form of Mag-Fluo-4, a fluorescent magnesium and calcium ion indicator that is an analog of Fluo-4.
Fluo-4, pentapotassium salt
Fluo-4, pentapotassium is membrane-impermeant calcium indicator. It can be loaded into cells via microinjection or scrape loading.
5,5′-Difluoro BAPTA, Tetrapotassium Salt
BAPTA and its derivatives are calcium chelators that are commonly used to form calcium buffers with well-defined calcium concentrations. By injecting the chelators into cells or by incubating cells with the AM ester form of the chelators, one can control the cytosolic calcium concentration, an important means to study the roles of calcium.
5,5′-Dibromo BAPTA, Tetrapotassium Salt
BAPTA and its derivatives are calcium chelators that are commonly used to form calcium buffers with well-defined calcium concentrations. By injecting the chelators into cells or by incubating cells with the AM ester form of the chelators, one can control the cytosolic calcium concentration, an important means to study the roles of calcium.

BAPTA, Tetrasodium Salt
BAPTA and its derivatives are calcium chelators that are commonly used to form calcium buffers with well-defined calcium concentrations. By injecting the chelators into cells or by incubating cells with the AM ester form of the chelators, one can control the cytosolic calcium concentration, an important means to study the roles of calcium.

Rhod-590, Tripotassium Salt
Membrane-impermeant calcium indicator that can be loaded into cells via microinjection or scrape loading. For the membrane-permeable AM ester form of Rhod-590, see 50025.
Rhod-590 AM Ester
Membrane-permeant form of Rhod-590 that can be loaded into cells via incubation.
Pluronic® F-127
Nonionic detergent useful for solubilizing hydrophobic compounds to facilitate cell loading.
Pluronic® F-127, 10% in H2O
Ready-to-use solution of Pluronic® F-127, a nonionic detergent useful for solubilizing hydrophobic compounds like AM esters of calcium indicator dyes to facilitate cell loading.
Ionomycin, Calcium Salt
Ionomycin is commonly used to modify intracellular calcium concentrations and to calibrate fluorescent calcium indicators. It is also known for its antiproliferative effects.
