Staff Scientist (Chemistry)
Fremont, California
This Staff Scientist (Chemistry) position focuses on the production of fluorescent reagents and improvement of manufacturing processes. This position will also involve developing novel fluorescent reagents for various detection platforms such as flow cytometry, microscopy, and live cell imaging systems.
Under direct supervision from the VP of Research and Development, the Staff Scientist will perform R&D and production projects to synthesize organic fluorescent dyes and related compounds utilizing/modifying existing protocols. The Staff Scientist will also design and execute new protocols for custom orders and new production items. The Staff Scientist will be expected to use his/her extensive knowledge of chemistry to successfully complete complex multi-step reactions.
Work is carried out in a typical chemistry laboratory setting. Work may require frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and/or carrying of chemicals or chemical containers. Work may also require sitting and working at a computer or standing at a laboratory bench for long periods of time.
Ph.D degree in Chemistry, or other related discipline, or the equivalent knowledge and experience is required.

Chemistry Technician I
Fremont, California
Under the direct supervision from a senior chemist, perform chemical purifications using chromatography including preparative HPLC or gravity chromatography; carry out chemical synthesis using standard protocols; carry out chemical analyses using modern instruments including analytical HPLC, LC-MS, TLC, UV/Vis and fluorescence spectrophotometry.
B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemistry or the equivalent knowledge and experience is required.
