CF®583 and CF®583R dyes are two spectrally similar red fluorescent dyes with exceptional brightness. Both dyes may be excited with a 561 nm to 568 nm laser line and have an emission maximum around 609 nm. CF®583 serves as an alternative to Cy®3.5, while CF®583R is a rhodamine-based fluorescent dye that serves as an alternative to Texas Red®. CF®583R could be used as an excellent energy acceptor in Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) when paired with R-PE. Both CF®583 and CF®583R produce antibody conjugates with brighter fluorescence compared to spectrally similar dyes (Figures 3, 4). In addition, the exceptional water solubility of the dyes facilitate bioconjugation and better preserves biological specificity of the conjugates.
CF®583R also delivers outstanding performance in super-resolution imaging using dSTORM. Along with CF®597R, it provides superior uniformity and continuity compared to other green-excited dyes (see publication). CF®583R is available as single-labeled secondary antibodies and Mix-n-Stain™ STORM CF® Dye Antibody Labeling Kits for convenient use in super-resolution applications. We also offer CF®583 and CF®583R in amine-reactive forms and with many other bioconjugates. Additional reactive dyes or conjugates may be added on request, contact techsupport@biotium.com to inquire.
For bright and photostable red dyes with a wide selection of reactive dyes, labeling kits, and conjugates, see our CF®568, and CF®594 dyes.
