Product Description

CF® dyes with a methanethiosulfonate (MTS) group are fast-reacting and highly selective thiol-reactive derivatives that can be used to attach fluorescent CF® dyes to thiol groups. Labeling can be easily reversed using reducing agents like DTT or TCEP.

  • Rapid and highly-selective labeling of thiol groups on target molecules with fluorescent CF® dyes.
  • Labeling is reversible using reducing reagents like TCEP and DTT.
  • Bright, photostable and water-soluble CF® dyes are excellent options for fluorescent labeling.

Superior CF® Dyes
CF® dyes are Biotium’s line of next-generation fluorescent dyes that have improved brightness, photostability and water solubility compared to Alexa Fluor®, DyLight®, and other fluorescent dyes.

Anhydrous DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide; methyl sulfoxide) is recommended for preparing stock solutions of AM ester dyes, reactive dyes and other related moisture-sensitive products.

    TCEP

TCEP hydrochloride is an odorless reducing agent that is more stable and effective than dithiothreitol (DTT) or 2-Mercaptoethanol. TCEP hydrochloride is soluble in water to 310 grams per liter.

    DTT

DTT (dithiothreitol) is a reducing agent commonly used to reduce cystine disulfides to free thiols.

CF® Dye Maleimides are thiol-reactive fluorescent dyes. Maleimides are commonly used to label proteins, peptides or other molecules containing free thiol groups.

    CF® Dye Succinimidyl Ester

CF® dye SE or NHS esters are amine-reactive fluorescent dyes. They are commonly used to label primary amines of antibodies and other proteins, amine-modified oligonucleotides and other amine-containing molecules.
