Neuroscience
AM3-25
AM3-25 is a lipophilic styryl dye that has an amine group at the hydrophilic head. The amine group reacts with formaldehyde or glutaldehyde to make the dye fixable.
AM4-64
AM4-64 is a fixable, activity-dependent fluorescent nerve terminal probe. AM4-64 functions similarly similarly as SynaptoRed™ C2 (#70021) (equivalent to FM®4-64), but with the additional property of being fixable.
AM4-65
AM4-65 is a fixable red fluorescent nerve terminal probe. The dye is spectrally identical to SynaptoRed™ C2 (equivalent to FM®4-64), but it has an additional amine group at the hydrophilic end of the molecule, making the dye fixable with formaldehyde or gluteraldehyde.
AM4-66
A fixable red fluorescent nerve terminal probe that is spectrally identical to SynaptoRed™ C2 (also called FM®4-64).
Biotin Ethylenediamine (free base)
Biotin ethylenediamine in free base form. White solid soluble in DMSO.
Biotin Ethylenediamine Iodoacetamide
Biotin ethylenediamine iodoacetamide is readily coupled to thiols.
Biotin Ethylenediamine, Hydrobromide (Neurobiotin™)
Biotin ethylenediamine, hydrobromide (N-(5-(6-((biotinoyl)amino)hexanoyl)amino)pentylmaleimide) is identical to Neurobiotin™, a useful anterograde and transneuronal tracer.
Biotin-XX-α-Bungarotoxin
A high affinity inhibitor of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor in the neuromuscular junction. Blocks acetylcholine activity at the postsynaptic membrane. The biotin conjugate can be subsequently labeled with anti-biotin antibodies, avidin, or streptavidin for signal amplification.
Congo Red “High Purity Grade”
Congo Red has been used in microscopy for staining elastic fibers and bacteria. Amyloid protein, an abnormal protein aggregate associated with various pathologies, is commonly detected in tissue with Congo Red.
DCDAPH (DANIR-2c)
Far-red fluorescent probe with high affinity for Aβ plaques/aggregates, that can be used for fluorescent staining of brain sections and in vivo detection of Aβ1-42 aggregates in small animals.
HM1-43
HM1-43 is a fixable, activity-dependent fluorescent nerve terminal probe.
Hydroxystilbamidine (Fluoro-Gold™)
Hydroxystilbamidine (also called Fluoro-Gold™) has been used extensively as a retrograde tracer for neurons and also a histochemical stain.
Methotrexate Conjugates
00023, 00094, 00093, 00092, - 00091View allHide
Cytotoxic agent that binds and inhibits dihydrofolate reductase. Useful for studying antimetabolite resistance, spontaneous gene amplification, and drug binding. Available conjugated to fluorescein and CF® Dyes.
SCAS
SCAS (4-Sulfonato calix[8]arene, sodium salt) is a quencher developed by Biotium to reduce background fluorescence when using our fixable AM dyes, SynaptoGreen and SynaptoRed dyes. Unlike ADVASEP-7, SCAS dramatically lowers background fluorescence as soon as it is added to the preparation without the need for repeated wash steps.
SGC3
SGC3 is a coumarin styryl dye that binds to membranes in a manner similar to the FM® dyes. It becomes highly fluorescent upon insertion into lipid bilayers.
SGC5
SGC5 is a coumarin styryl dye that binds to membranes in a manner similar to the FM® dyes. It becomes highly fluorescent upon insertion into lipid bilayers.
