Apoptosis & Viability Assays
Ac-DEVD-AMC
Ac-DEVD-AMC is a fluorogenic substrate for caspase 3 and can be used to continuously measure the activity of caspase-3 in cell extracts, using a fluorometer or fluorescence microplate reader. For real-time detection of caspase-3 activity in intact cells, see our novel NucView®488 Caspase-3 Assay Kit.
Ac-DEVD-CHO Caspase-3 Inhibitor
10404, - 10404-1View allHide
Ac-DEVD-CHO is a synthetic tetrapeptide competitive inhibitor for Caspase-3/7, and contains the amino acid sequence of the PARP cleavage site. Ac-DEVD-CHO can be used to inhibit Caspase-3/7 activity in apoptotic cells, and to study events downstream of Caspase-3/7 activation.
Congo Red “High Purity Grade”
Congo Red has been used in microscopy for staining elastic fibers and bacteria. Amyloid protein, an abnormal protein aggregate associated with various pathologies, is commonly detected in tissue with Congo Red.
DCDAPH (DANIR-2c)
Far-red fluorescent probe with high affinity for Aβ plaques/aggregates, that can be used for fluorescent staining of brain sections and in vivo detection of Aβ1-42 aggregates in small animals.
NucSpot® Far-Red, 1000X in DMSO

An improved alternative to 7-AAD showing less bleed-through fluorescence in the PE-Texas Red® channel. Ideal for selective detection of dead cells by flow cytometry.
Propidium Iodide (PI)
40016, 40017, - 40048View allHide
A membrane-impermeant nucleic acid intercalator. The dye is commonly used to selectively stain dead cells in a mixed live-dead population and also used as a counterstain in multicolor fluorescent assays.
Staurosporine
Staurosporine is a potent and cell-permeable inhibitor of a wide variety of protein kinases by competing for the ATP binding site.
Thioflavin T, High Purity Grade
A cell-permeable dye that exhibits enhanced fluorescence upon binding to amyloid fibrils, and has been used in histology and for protein characterization.
